About me
Throughout my sustained investigation I navigated how my initial theme of movement shifted towards the focus of myself displayed somewhere in my works. I chose etching as my main medium because I was able to display each and every strand of movement within my etching strokes. I was able to showcase flowing movement from ripples of water to hair blowing in the wind, but I was also able to show that in monotypes as well. Each of those mediums allowed me to consolidate my work into solely printmaking. Every inspiration photo I used for my etches or monotypes was from a live photo or video, where I paused on a certain image that broadcasted the most movement. In the beginning I mainly focused on highlighting movement throughout my work, but I noticed a pattern in the more works I completed, which was including myself in each image I etched. I began to lean more towards the idea of myself growing, which also involves myself moving and maturing specifically now considering graduation is in one month. I discovered the shift of physical movement to a more physiological movement in my artwork the more I completed and grew as an artist.
